Sri Ramakrishna College of Nursing celebrates Lighting Ceremony

The 31st Lamp Lighting Ceremony was celebrated by College of Nursing, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences at Smt. Velumaniammal Memorial Hall, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital Campus, Coimbatore.

The Chief Guest of the programme was Dr.S. Madhavi, Principal, KMCH College of Nursing, Coimbatore. The programme commenced at 10.30am with welcome address by Dr.T. Nirmala, Principal, College of Nursing, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences, and Shri.D. Lakshminarayanaswamy, Joint Managing Trustee, S.N.R. Sons Charitable Trust presided over the function.

The First year B.Sc. Nursing students pledged to follow the path shown by Florence Nightingale by lighting lamps and taking oath as a mark of entry into the nursing profession. The Nightingale lamp was lit and passed on to the students. The Florence nightingale pledge was administered by Prof. Girijakumari, Vice Principal, College of Nursing, SRIPMS, Coimbatore.

Dr. S. Madhavi, Principal, KMCH College of Nursing, Chief Guest of the ceremony explained the novelty and greatness of being a nurse by profession. Her note of the advice to the fresher’s was “have competence, cognition, critical thinking, courage and communication towards your profession. She also emphasized on development of passion, right attitude lays a path for success”.

Asso.Prof. Brindha.V, College of Nursing, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences proposed the vote of thanks.
